33. Rocket Man

I like 33. Rocket Man it reminded me of the A Grand Day Out, but this is a more sophisticated astronaut outfit Wallace is wearing.

He once more has a nice cup of tea.

This sculpture is outside the Bristol Children’s Hospital and of course the whole Gromit Unleashed trail is about raising money for the hospital.

Back in 2015 I attempted to see and photograph all 70 Shaun the Sheeps I managed to get 62. This time I am aiming to get all 67 sculptures.

19. Gnome Sweet Gnome

Looking at City Hall in Bristol on College Green we have Wallace dressed as a garden gnome as 19. Gnome Sweet Gnome.

He has the beard, the red hat, the blue jacket and green wellingtons so often found on gnomes.

Sitting there with his cup of tea, well it’s not tea but a small fish pond complete with lilies and fish.

It’s the little details that you can often miss, and often the reason for taking photographs to review later. Did you notice the butterfly on his right foot?

45. Sprinkles

Enjoying being a birthday cake, 45. Sprinkles can be found outside the Boston Tea Party on the Gloucester Road.

He seems very focused on the candle on his head, not surprised really.

16. Fangs McGraw

In the middle of Stanfords Bookshop you can find the evil looking 16. Fangs McGraw.

Playing the part of a vampire, this is one mean looking penguin. Though he does look a little like the arch-villian, the Penguin out of Batman.

6. Feathers McGraw

Have You Seen This Chicken?

As with 15. Wallace and 43. Gromit the 6. Feathers McGraw sculpture is painted as he appears in the films.

Guarding the Wills Building at the University, watch out he may be up to his usual tricks and has a dastardly scheme underway.

9. The Howl

Echoing The Scream by Edvard Munch, 9. The Howl sees Gromit bursting through a picture frame outside the Royal West of England Academy on Queen’s Road.

Gromit has obviously being painting, as his face and paws are covered in paint spills.

It was frustrating to see how many people were climbing on this sculpture as we approached and ignoring the “Do Not Climb” notices on the side. A lot to he sculptures we have seen have been damaged or covered in muddy marks (following the rain). 51. In-cog-nito at the Mall has been broken and no longer works because of people climbing on the model and damaging the mechanism. I believe though that the models will be cleaned and touched up before going on show at the Mall in September and on auction later.

15. Wallace

In the heart of Bristol on Lewins Mead is 15. Wallace, and he is just a Wallace, just like 43. Gromit he is painted as he appears in the films.

He comes complete with bench and a cup of tea.

36. The Emperor

In the centre of Broadmead is 36. The Emperor, Feathers McGraw, like 34. Ferne is covered in tiny shiny tiles.

This was quite a challenging sculpture to photograph, not just with the large number of people about, but also the light. This was actually my second attempt to photograph the penguin.
