The steam engine Britannia was hauling the Torbay Express this morning on it’s way to Dartmouth from Bristol Temple Meads.

The view from Blackpool Tower
Back in February, we had a holiday in the North-West visiting Manchester, Liverpool and Blackpool. My first time to this seaside resort, and mid-week in February was probably quite a nice time to visit, hardly any crowds and no traffic.
We did go up the Blackpool Tower, which in my opinion isn’t cheap, but we had some tokens from cereal boxes which reduced the overall cost.
The weather was nice, so we had some really nice views from the top.

Royal Air Force Museum Cosford
The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford, located in Cosford in Shropshire, is a museum dedicated to the history of aviation and the Royal Air Force in particular. On a recent trip up north for a holiday, we stopped off for a few hours to have a look around the museum. It is free to get in, and certainly a much nicer option over stopping at the motorway services!
There are lots of aircraft on display, and the Cold War exhibition certainly was quite haunting (especially for those of us who the 1980s isn’t history, as we lived through it).
Well worth a visit if you like aircraft or modern history.

This is the LEGO Jurassic World Game Teaser Trailer, I think my kids will enjoy the game when it is released.

In the Lake District
Back in 1998 I visited the Lake District and had a very enjoyable few days walking across the hills and valleys. Sadly I’ve not been back since (well I did go in 1999), not really had the chance or the time. Hoping that this year that may change. I think this is around Ennerdale.
I took these photographs with a Canon EOS 500 camera using film, the images were scanned in from prints.

Get Back to the Future at iTunes, and get Back to the Future II (the one set in 2015) also from iTunes. Don’t forget the third film… Read my review.
Jurassic World Trailer
This is the new trailer for the new Jurassic World film.
It’s over twenty years since the release of the original Jurassic Park, which apart from making me feel old, it’s interesting to note how far CGI technologies have come. CGI back then was very innovative, but now most films have a CGI element to them. I also am seeing how many film makers are now moving away from CGI for some effects and going back to models and live action.
In the original Jurassic Park, there were only fifteen minutes of actual dinosaur footage in the film: nine minutes were Stan Winston’s animatronics (live models), six minutes of it is ILM’s CGI.
