36. The Emperor

In the centre of Broadmead is 36. The Emperor, Feathers McGraw, like 34. Ferne is covered in tiny shiny tiles.

36. The Emperor

This was quite a challenging sculpture to photograph, not just with the large number of people about, but also the light. This was actually my second attempt to photograph the penguin.

36. The Emperor

Back in 2015 I attempted to see and photograph all 70 Shaun the Sheeps I managed to get 62. This time I am aiming to get all 67 sculptures.

I have created this page to record all the sculptures we find.

8. ThermoGromit

Hidden away in the left enclaves of the University of Bristol’s Royal Fort Gardens can be found 8. ThermoGromit.

This bright pink Gromit is covered in black hand prints.

8. ThermoGromit

The bright sun and shadows made this a difficult Gromit to photograph, but I think I managed to capture the essence of the art.

42. The Hound of Music

Hidden away in the heart of Gardiner Haskins is 42. The Hound of Music

42. The Hound of Music

Covered in song titles, you can take time to see if they have your favourite song on the Gromit.

42. The Hound of Music

Or you can try and identify the bands from the song titles.

42. The Hound of Music

Also do check out his back, a lot of the models have interesting backs and it’s easy to forget to look when taking photographs from the front.

40. Tropi-canis

Hidden on the fourth floor of the House of Fraser in Cabot Circus is 40. Tropi-canis. This Gromit is covered in pink flamingoes.

40. Tropi-canis

Quite challenging to photograph from some angles because of the background light.

40. Tropi-canis

I like the toucan on his back.

50. Spock

Well my first Wallace sculpture was found at the Mall outside the middle entrance. Wallace is painted as Spock from Star Trek and would be probably enjoying a nice cup of Vulcan tea, but no he has a communicator in his hand instead.

50. Spock

The interesting aspect of the Wallace sculptures is the inclusion of the bench. Are you allowed to sit on the bench? It does say “Please Do Not Climb”, but is that about the sculpture or does it include the bench? Whatever the intention, everyone I saw was sitting on the bench next to Spock, who with those hands could certainly give a nasty Vulcan neck grip!

50. Spock

I like how they have given Wallace both the Vulcan pointed ears, but also the eyebrows too.

52. Gromit P. Sullivan (Sulley)

In the Grand Appeal shop at the Mall at Cribbs Causeway is a very furry Gromit, 52. Gromit P. Sullivan in the style of Sulley from Monsters Inc.

52. Gromit P. Sullivan (Sulley)

This is obviously an indoor Gromit, as the fur would not survive the elements.

52. Gromit P. Sullivan (Sulley)

This is one of my favourites so far and I like how they have captured both the essence of Sulley without losing the essence of Gromit.

2. Wild at Heart

In the heart of the Ashton Court Estate next to the mansion is the gromit 2. Wild at Heart.

2. Wild at Heart

I missed the sculptures at Ashton Courts back in 2015, so was keen to capture the Gromit here. He is covered in endangered species.

2. Wild at Heart

Don’t miss the back of him, which has a wonderful turtle pained on his back.

51. In-cog-nito

Up at the Mall at Cribbs Causeway there are three sculptures. The one outside the main entrance to John Lewis is In-cog-nito. A clockwork retro robot style Feathers McGraw, he is not just painted but has moving parts and glowing eyes.

51. In-cog-nito

The insides are a huge collection of cogs and clockwork mechanisms including a huge key to wind him up. All the cogs rotate and click around.

51. In-cog-nito

As well as the eyes glowing red, his head rotates, which is somewhat freaky.

51. In-cog-nito

The whole design is reminiscent of the style of the film Robots but I also think the Clockwork Robots in the Doctor Who episode The Girl in the Fireplace may have also been an influence.
